Jr Lancer Flag football 

The Jr Lancer Flag Football Program

The Jr Lancer Flag level is an entry point into BC football for 2nd and 3rd graders. Teams consist of between 9 and 12 players, constructed by the Jr Lancer Flag Coordinator.

Coaching Staff

The coaching staff will be comprised of parent volunteers, supported by the Jr Lancer Board of Directors, including the Jr Lancer Flag Coordinator and Joel Nellis, head varsity football coach at BCHS. The games will be refereed by BCHS Football players, who will be supervised by a Board appointee.  All coaches will complete a criminal background check, USA Football training and mandatory reporter training.

Program Goals: 

The goals of the program are to introduce players to football and Lancer football terminology, learn proper ball handling, footwork, and body positioning techniques for both offense and defense, teamwork, and, above all else, have fun in a safe environment and develop a love of the
game. 

Season Details: 

• Mandatory parent and player meeting will be held early August at BCHS (Date and Time TBD)
• Player evaluations will take place mid-August at BCHS to create teams of similar skill levels (August 13th, 2026, time TBD)
• Picture Day (TBD) 

 Practice Schedules:

• Practices begin August 18th, 2026
• Practice 2 times per week on T & TH @ Wisconsin Hills Middle School until first scrimmage on August 29
• After that, will go to 1 day/week (either Tuesday or Thursday, as determined by the Coach)

Game Day Schedule (All games are played at BCHS on Saturday):

• Scrimmage: August 29th 2026
• First Game: September 12th, 2026
• Last Game: October 24, 2026
• 6 game season + 1 playoff game
• Opportunity to play some games at Harrison-Thomas Stadium (BC’s Varsity Field!)
